Creative Writing
The Isobelle Carmody Award for Creative Writing

Our annual competition, now in its sixteenth year, is named after Isobelle Carmody, our Patron of Creative Writing, who is one of Australia’s most famous writers of fantasy for young readers. Over the years, Isobelle has been closely involved with the School, as judge, guest speaker and writer in residence. Each year, our competition is judged by a published author and this year we welcomed Penni Russon as our judge for 2009. Awards are given by the judge for the best writing at each year level and the "Isobelle Carmody Award for Excellence" is given for the overall School winner. We can look forward to seeing the winning stories published in Scripsi, the English Department's Literary Magazine.
